We bought this $3,000 Jeep knowing it had problems… and in Part 2, we finally tackle the biggest one.
The transmission was cooked, the cooler flow was blocked, and things inside got hot enough to melt plastic and damage aluminum. After getting the transmission rebuilt, fixing the cooler setup, repairing a few other problems we found along the way, and putting everything back together, it was finally time to answer the big question:
Will this $3,000 Jeep actually drive?
For the first time since we bought it, we get the Jeep out of first gear, onto the road, and shifting like it should. But this build is far from finished. There’s still plenty left to fix, clean up, and improve before we find out whether we can actually make our money back on it.
