Three years ago, we set out to tackle what might be the hardest trail at Windrock… and we never made it to the top.
This footage was supposed to be the final episode in our “Hardest Trails at Windrock” series, but after broken parts, nonstop winching, slick rocks, steep climbs, and daylight disappearing fast, we had to call it. Then the footage sat on a hard drive for three years.
Trail 71B is no joke. It’s steep, remote, covered in loose rock, and after a bunch of rain it turned into a complete mess. We broke both Jeeps, bent parts, lost brakes, destroyed a U-joint, and still had a long way to go.
By the time it got completely dark, the trail only got steeper ahead of us, so instead of risking another all-night recovery, we finally took the bypass.
We definitely need to go back and finish this one.
