In this video I’ll give you a few pointers on how to remove the inner axleshaft from the older dana 30 axles. These CAD central axle disconnect axles had a vacuum diaghram, a fork, and a collar that connected and disconnected a 2 piece axleshaft on the passenger side. It came in many dana 30 axles from chrysler, dodge, and jeep including the wrangler and the cherokee before 1992.
**Update – Some dana 30 axles including the 1987 XJ axles have a c-clip on the inner passenger side axleshaft. If this is the case you’ll have to remove the diff cover and remove the c-clip before the inner shaft will slide out. – Update**
